Streets

The Streets Department is responsible for maintenance of City sidewalks, streets, storm drainage systems, sanitary sewer systems (preventative), and general right of way. Additional services provided include snow removal, street sweeping, tree removal, mosquito abatement, refuse collection (in conjunction with Columbia County Solid Waste), yard waste collection, traffic control and many more.

NOTICE TO COMMERCIAL CONTRACTORS

The drop off site at the City Garage for asphalt and concrete is only available for contractors working on projects for the City of Portage.

The brush drop off site on Airport Road and wood drop off site on Currie Road are only available to Portage residents.
